Meninos Art Contest is an ongoing open call for notebook cover design submissions.

Anyone can sign up, download a notebook template and submit a cover desgin.

The submission will be viewed, commented and graded by designers from all over the world.

The selected design will be produced and become a notebook available for purchase on Meninos Store.

The notebooks have 3 different models: squared, ruled and plain pages, all measuring 14 x 21 cm (5"x8-1/4") and with an awesome hard cover design!

All designers who have their art chosen will earn $500 ($350 in cash and $150 in Meninos Store credits).

The submissions may be pending approval for 4-9 days before it is available for voting.


The design will be displayed for 30 days after the approved submission and you can submit how many designs you want.

:: How do I grade the designs? ::
To grade a design, you need to create your account on Meninos Store, browse the design gallery and give your grade to the selected design. Grade each design from "A" to "F". We'll will keep track of which notebooks you have graded so when you come back you will be all ready to grade new designs. There is also a option to grade "A+", this will count as you intend to buy the notebook if it became available but you will not be required to purchase the notebook if it wins.

:: How are the winning submissions chosen? ::
All designs will be evaluated but we will base our decision on the design's overall score, comments, the number of 'A+' scores. The final decision is left up to us. The grades system helps give us a general idea of which designs our customers want.

:: Do I keep the rights to my artwork? ::
If we choose to print a design, the designer is giving us exclusive rights to print and sell it on every kind of notebooks. The designer remains with partial right, able to produce or sell the artwork to any kind of media different from notebooks. We will not use a design unless the designer has been reimbursed for its use. The legal terms for Meninos Art Contest can be found here. Sure! The only requirementis to open a Meninos user account. You can create a user account here.

:: What do I receive for a winning design? ::
Designers who are printed earn $500 ($350 in cash and $150 in Meninos products) 

:: How are designers paid for winning submissions? ::
Payment is made via Paypal.

:: How long does it take for a submission to be up for voting? ::
After a design is submitted, it may be pending approval for 4-9 days before it is available for voting.
